How Effective Are Chiropractic Manipulation?

Chiropractic manipulation, based on numerous studies, is very effective in dealing with acute and chronic forms of back pain. I would suggest you go to a chiropractor that has been recommended by your MD or even a friend that’s had a positive experience and start there. I would look to make sure that the visit is not rushed and includes a consultation, examination and an initial short term recommendation for care. Once you are out of pain the next thing to do would be to find an expert in corrective movement strategies to try and figure out why you wound up in need of chiropractic care in the first place! Some chiropractors do this type of work and are board certified in rehabilitation. If there are none in your area a referral to a PT might be in order.
