World Blood Donor Day 2022: Significance
World Blood Donor Day is an annual event held every year on the 14th June to thank the voluntary and unpaid blood donors for their critical contribution and appreciate their deed. The day was created to support the national blood transfusion services, blood donor organizations and other non governmental organizations in nourishing and expanding their voluntary blood donor services by strengthening the national and local campaigns.
One of the main aim of World Blood Donor Day is to encourage younger generation to donate blood by showing them how blood donations have saved and changed lives. Some people might be a bit nervous or not sure about donating blood, they should be encouraged to start donating and by doing so the donor population will become more stronger instead of declining. This should be done because Blood is helpful for the patients who are suffering from life-threatening conditions for living longer and with a higher quality of life.
World Blood Donor Day 2022: Theme
The slogan for the World Blood Donor Day 2022 is “Donating blood is an act of solidarity. Join the effort and save lives” to draw attention to the roles and responsibilities that voluntary blood donations play in saving lives and enhancing solidarity within communities. Mexico will host the World Blood Donor Day 2022 events through its National Blood Centre. The global event will be held in Mexico City on 14th June 2022.
