A hydrocele is a buildup of fluid that can occur around one or both testicles. It is normally painless but can cause swelling that can be uncomfortable. The condition is common in newborns and usually goes away on its own. In adults, this can occur because of injury or other scrotal inflammation, but is not usually harmful. There are symptoms that you can look for to identify whether you have a hydrocele.
